SPECIAL EVENTS

Steam into Summer at Mangapps!

We will be holding a special event on Sunday, June 11th featuring BR Standard Class 4 2-6-4T Locomotive No. 80078. The main theme of the event will be the London, Tilbury and Southend line, on which the loco worked for 8 years in the 1950s and '60s.

80078 will be hauling passenger trains throughout the day, with short breaks for running demonstration goods trains, particularly for the benefit of photographers. We shall also be highlighting the many historical artifacts of LT&SR origin in our museum collections.

In addition. Andrew Barclay 0-4-0ST No. 8 "Fambridge" will be working with our Canadian Pacific Railway caboose on the Southminster Road branch line- a truly unique event!

The Railway will be operating at our normal opening times and, for this very special event which is unlikely to be repeated in the near future, ticket prices will be £I0.00 adult, £9.00 seniors and £5.00 children, children 3 yrs. and under, free.

Please note that trains run on all open days!
A vintage diesel train is used on passenger services on non steam days.
